Google is preparing a connected watch to compete with the Apple Watch. Screenshots from an internal source reveal the first photos and confirm the name of the Google Pixel Watch.

The ethics of the Internet of Things raises questions More and more, the Internet of Things is invading our daily lives. Connected objects make our life easier in the medical and domestic fields … but they transmit a mass of data and raise ethical questions.

New images of the future Pixel Watch from Google have just escaped thanks to the leaker Jon Prosser. He had shared information about the future competitor of l’Apple Watch in April. The launch was initially planned at the same time as the smartphone Pixel 6, which was announced in October. However, at the time, it only had CGI and the launch of the smartwatch was postponed due to the shortage of semiconductors.

The new images are screenshot marketing materials, most of which are of very poor quality. They come directly from Google and confirm the renderings released earlier this year as well as the name: it will be the Pixel Watch. As expected, it will be bezel-less. It will have a simple round screen with a side button.

A launch in the first quarter of 2022

The Pixel Watch should carry most of the usual functions, with a step counter and a heart rate monitor. It will use the Wear OS 3 operating system based on Android, without overlay (unlike the Galaxy Watch 4). The launch date is not yet known, but according to the leaker it should be announced during the first quarter of 2022.

Jon Prosser also took the opportunity to deny a rumor that runs on the Pixel Fold. According to some, the foldable smartphone, the first information of which was leaked in 2019, has been canceled. For him, it is not. However, at this time we still have no estimate on a possible launch date.

Leaker Jon Prosser summarizes the information on Google’s Pixel Watch and exclusively shares the new footage – from 6:40. (Enable automatic translation of subtitles.) © Front Page Tech
